PLANT MEDICINE JOURNEY

At GroSpirit, plant medicine ceremonies are approached as sacred, intentional processes designed to support deep insight, clarity, and lasting change. These ceremonies are about seeing clearly and meeting oneself honestly and creating the conditions for freedom from undesirable patterns.

Iboga Plant Medicine Ceremony

Iboga is a powerful root bark originating from the Bwiti tradition of Central Africa. It has a long history of use in addressing addiction and supporting profound self-inquiry. Iboga is known for its unique ability to bring conscious awareness to the subconscious, allowing individuals to observe their life, behaviours, relationships, and choices from an expanded, almost bird’s-eye perspective. This wider view often brings clarity, emotional truth, and deep understanding that continues to resonate long after the ceremony.

From a physiological perspective, iboga is recognised for its capacity to help reset neurological pathways and synaptic patterns toward pre-addicted states. This can offer a rare opportunity to interrupt cycles of addiction and reduce the intense suffering often associated with withdrawal. Alongside this, iboga frequently reveals the root causes behind addictive and self-limiting behaviour patterns that may have quietly shaped life in harmful ways. Iboga will allow these self-limiting behaviour patterns to be addressed with awareness rather than avoidance.

Shaheedi Degh
& AMANITA MUSCARIA CERMONY

Shaheedi Degh is a sacred drink from the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa tradition, prepared by grinding specific nuts, herbs, and Ayurvedic spices into a liquid, with the solids removed so that only the infused drink is consumed. It may be prepared with or without cannabis (also known as sukha or Cannabis sativa), depending on the intention and needs of the individual.

This carefully balanced combination of plant substances supports deep physical detoxification and whole-body clearing. Many experience profound inner vision and insight, often accessing locked energy and understanding within the body. Shahedi Degh can illuminate patterns held not only in the mind, but within the nervous system and physical body itself, supporting release, regulation, and inner clarity.

Amanita muscaria Ceremony: Fly Agaric (Amanita Muscaria) is approached with great care and respect. This medicine is known for its dreamlike, introspective qualities and its ability to guide awareness into deep internal landscapes. Experiences often unfold at a foundational level, supporting insight and healing connected to the body’s root and instinctual layers.

Is this journey for me?

Ceremonies offer an intimate space for those who feel called to look within. Whether navigating addiction, burnout, anxiety, grief, trauma, mental health, physical/spiritual imbalances, or simply sensing a deeper pull toward self-understanding and reconnection. Rather than focusing on symptoms, this work invites exploration of the underlying patterns, emotions, and imprints shaping current states and experiences. The intention is to support healing from within, working with root causes and the fundamental anchors of imbalance. Through carefully guided ceremony, many experience greater awareness, emotional release, mental clarity, internal freedom, and a renewed sense of connection to self, life, and purpose.

Each journey is approached with care and respect for the individual. The experience is carefully tailored, taking into account the personal history, current health, Ayurvedic constitution, and any medications or supplements currently taken. Safety remains central, with full medical pre-screening, appropriate preparations and cleansing, and ongoing monitoring and support throughout the ceremony. This allows the process to unfold within safe, supportive, and transformative parameters - helping to gently unravel long-held patterns, bring insight to subconscious layers, and create space for meaningful, lasting shifts in how we feel, respond, and move through life. Support continues beyond the ceremony, helping to integrate the experience and embody lasting change.

The spirit within these sacred plants are gifts of nature, holding their original natural essence and meeting us in ours. When approached with respect and openness, they can support a deeper sense of attunement - guiding us toward a more rooted and balanced connection within ourselves and the world around.

Lineage, Training, and Respect

Practitioners at GroSpirit are formally trained in these traditions. They belong to the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa tradition and have also been initiated into the Bwiti tradition to carry out Iboga ceremonies. With over ten years of direct experience, ceremonies are held with deep responsibility, knowledge, and care.

All plant medicines at GroSpirit are approached ceremonially, with reverence for their lineage, ancestry, and spirit. Each ceremony includes intentional preparation and respectful invocation, requesting guidance and support from the medicine for the individual’s specific needs, challenges, and intentions. This respectful relationship is central to the work, ensuring that each experience is held safely, ethically, and with profound personal meaning.
